Doggy daycare is a safe, fun, social play environment for your dog. At Playful Pups we provide safe and supervised areas for your dog to run and play with other dogs and staff members, both inside and outside. Whether you're away on a vacation or are just out for the day, Playful Pups will show your pup a great time.
Our facility is conveniently located off of Highway 41, just down the road from Fleet Farm and across from the Fond du Lac Humane Society. Our daycare is equipped with both indoor and outdoor play areas packed with toys for playtime, clean and comfortable kennels for naptime, and fun and friendly staff to care for your dog. At Playful Pups, we aim to care for your pet in the best way possible when you can't.
WHEN CAN MY DOG START DAYCARE?
We accept dogs 16 weeks and older who have completed all of their age-appropriate shots and have received a bordetella vaccination. This vaccination usually needs to be requested, as it is not always given with puppy shots.
DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED?
In order to participate in daycare, all dogs must be spayed or neutered before the age of seven months. Unaltered pets are, however, welcome to participate in overnight boarding.
ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS?
All pets need to receive monthly Flea/Tick & Heartworm preventative. This will ensure that all of our guests stay happy and healthy. All shots must be kept current to come to daycare. We require written proof from your vet of when vaccinations were given and are due.
Playful Pups was opened by Laura Leichtfuss and Doug Prunty Jr. in September 2016. Laura has an extensive background in accounting and management, as well as a lot of experience caring for animals. She grew up on a farm in Van Dyne, which led to quite an eclectic variety of pets, which encouraged a love of animals, especially dogs. After losing a Samoyed named Sugar several years ago, Playful Pups allows her to have that companionship again.
The same is also true for Doug, who recently lost a Black Lab named Parker just a couple of years ago. Doug grew up with a big family that could always be found at a race track. When not at the race track, however, he has worked as a semi driver, both over the road and driving trucks locally. He sees Playful Pups as a theraputic and fun career move, because what's better than spending every day surrounded by dogs?
